T3 Tales: Three Months Already!

As of yesterday, Benett is 3 months old! We can't believe how fast he is changing and all the things he is learning to do. We have had a couple of big accomplishments recently. The first is that he has started to understand what he is supposed to do with his hands. Until recently, they were just these things that seemed to move uncontrollably when he got excited. Now, he can fold his hands over his chest, put them in his mouth when he is hungry, rub is eyes when he is tired, and push his pacifier back in his mouth when he drops it (this one isn't quite mastered yet, but I'm sure it will be soon).

His smiles, coos, and laughs have also become more frequent. It is great having such an amazing little boy to talk to during the day! Mike was talking to Benett this past Sunday as we were getting ready for church and Benett actually said "hello" back to Mike! Mike and I looked at each other and started cracking up..."Did he really just say that? No, that was just a coo that sounded like he repeated hello back to me...right?" "I don't know, try again" I said. "Helloooo Benett, helloooo" said Mike. "He whoa" said Benett with a smile and giggle. It was an amazing moment! Not only did he say "he whoa" to us twice that morning, but when we were driving home from church, I was in the back seat with him and attempted once again to get him to repeat back "hello." To our surprise, HE DID IT AGAIN! We are officially calling this his first word since he said it three times in one day.
Benett has also been sleeping a lot better this past week. Although he hasn't slept all the way through the night, twice he has slept for 5 hour stretches. This might not seem like much to some people but it is HUGE to me because it gives me hope that my first full night sleep in over 3 months is not far away.
